The Cal Aggie Alumni Association is a proud sponsor of Picnic Day and will be hosting a number of events and fun activities for alumni and their families in the Gateway District. Additionally, when Aggies everywhere are thinking of their alma mater, UC Davis will hold its second annual Give Day – a 29-hour fundraising drive that celebrates the theme “Every Aggie Counts: Together, We Add Up!”

Join fellow Aggies online and in-person from noon on Friday, April 20, until 5 p.m. the next day, which will be Picnic Day. This is the second year Picnic Day and Give Day will be joined, culminating in the parade where alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff will show their Aggie Pride and have the opportunity to participate in the Picnic Day Parade, to illustrate philanthropy’s impact on research and education at UC Davis.

Volunteer areas include:

Give Day Information Booth Volunteer (2 hour blocks between 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) speak to guests attending Picnic Day on what Give Day is and assist with taking photos at our fun photo booth. You would stay at one location for the duration of your shift. Depending on shift time, participants may help with booth setup and cleanup.

Give Day General Volunteer - assist with transportation of supplies, providing guests with information and general event duties. You may travel around campus in distribution of supplies.

Parade Participant (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.) -  Start off your morning joining us for a cup of coffee and donuts before participating in the parade showing your Aggie Pride and holding up signage on how others can support UC Davis on Give Day. Friends, family and the community are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Things to note about the parade:
-Please note all individuals participating in the parade must submit a waiver by Friday, April 6 by 5 p.m. no exceptions.
- You must arrive by 8 a.m. as streets around the parade close to the public. The most convenient area to park is the Quad Parking Structure near the Memorial Union or in Lot 25 by the Activities and Recreation Center. All participants must line up by 8:40 a.m. and opening ceremonies are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
- If you have accessibility issues, please note that when registering.
- This year we will be have a tram available to most participants. Space is limited on the tram to those with mobility issues, then first come first served.
- Please remember this is a parade so there will up to three miles of walking.

All volunteers will receive a Give Day t-shirt and for those volunteering in an area that isn't the parade, a brief orientation will be scheduled approximately one week before Give Day.  If you are an active UC Davis employee, please seek supervisor approval for any volunteer work executed on Saturday, April 21.
