Hear the inside story of how the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden has become a recognized leader in transformative educational programs.  The Learning by Leading program brings together the best of the university’s science and art to develop student leaders as they tackle the unprecedented real-world issues in climate change, habitat restoration, sustainable horticulture, food security, and environmental literacy. As leaders of the GATEways project, they engage the public to create innovative landscapes and programs needed for the future. The Learning by Leading™ program is a model for institutions around the world, including Smithsonian Gardens in partnership with American University. The program includes lunch, an exclusive tour of the diverse Smithsonian Gardens, and a preview of their inaugural exhibition, Habitat (2019-2020).
