Event Information:

On Saturday, August 18th at 1:15 PM, please join us for a personalized tour of The Art Institute of Chicago (AIC), led by UC Davis alum Stephanie Lin-Sumah '12. Stephanie studied Art and Psychology at UC Davis and went on to receive her Masters in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Stephanie is a Chicago-based artist and works as an Academic Advisor at SAIC.

Following Stephanie’s lead, we will explore several notable exhibits throughout the AIC, and learn about aspects of the museum from an artist/art student perspective (For those who may not know, the Art Institute was initially built as a study center for the School of the Art Institute SAIC). Our tour will also feature a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum's Accessibility and Lifelong Learning Program led by current intern Katie Lynn O'Neill, including their Touch Gallery, 3-D printed replicas of original works of art, TacTiles, and more!

Stephanie and her husband, Kekeli Sumah—a current Masters of Architecture student at SAIC, are co-founders and editors of The Object Press, and recently exhibited their project HOME/LANDS as a partner program of the U.S. Pavilion, at the Venice Architecture Biennale!  Come meet them at the AIC to learn more!
