This Spring Quarter AAS is hosting 2024 New Directions Speaker Series! The event will be held will be held at Hart Hall 3201 and food will be included. 

Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom's is a professor at UNC-Chapel Hill with a background in information, technology and public life. Her research includes the ideas of everyday culture which include topics of racism, sexism, inequality, and oppression. Dr. Tressie McMillan Cottom is an author of many books and articles, including the widely- acclaimed THICK: And Other Essays (The New Press, 2019) and Lower Ed: The Troubling Rise of For-Profit Colleges (The New Press, 2017)
