Physician Benjamin Wang ’06 has donated thousands of breathing devices to hospitals across the U.S. and in Mexico. Benjamin co-founded his company, NeVap Inc., in 2014 and developed the only commercialized breathing tube with a suction that prevents infections and reduces a patient’s mechanical ventilation time.
Benjamin says his company initially developed the device, a – wait for it – multi-port subglottic suction endotracheal tube, to prevent pneumonias in people who enter the ICU and need surgery.
“I know I speak for everyone at NeVap when I say we are honored and ready to meet the challenge of this pandemic. We are very proud that our device is in use in Bay Area Hospitals where it is benefiting patients.”
He added UC Davis instilled in him an understanding and importance of giving back and supporting the common good. Thank you, Benjamin!
