Welcome to the Aggie Family. For students of Curtis Martineau’s 6th grade class at Julian Elementary School in Julian, CA, they’re proving you don’t have to be a current student or an alumnus to be a part of the Aggie family, all you need is a little Aggie pride.

In honor of UC Davis’ Centennial, the Cal Aggie Student Alumni Association (SAA) launched the “Aggie Classrooms” program adopting classrooms from all over California and one in Boston in the fall of 2008. Classrooms received a range of UC Davis posters, pennants, stickers and SAA t-shirts. At Julian Elementary, students were seen wearing their t-shirts at various school events and put together a thank-you video sharing their appreciation for the UC Davis gear and their dreams of future college days.

As the program continues to grow, SAA hopes to “continue inspiring young students to pursue higher education dreams that will include UC Davis,” says SAA Vice President of Internal Affairs, Phil Niedzwiedz ’10. In addition, CAAA alumni groups like the San Diego chapter are planning to get involved by volunteering at the schools.
