2013 Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony
DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS
In 1977, the campus instituted the Leadership Recognition Program for Outstanding Graduating Seniors to acknowledge their contributions to the university and its quality of student life, and to encourage their continued interest in the Davis campus. We acknowledge the importance of marking our seniors’ achievements and celebrate our students as we all look forward to the next 100 years of Aggie excellence.
The ceremony format will include a few annual campus-wide awards as well as one individual award, determined by each department, recognizing their outstanding graduating senior. This will provide university administration, faculty and staff with an opportunity to showcase the academic achievement of a student in their department and express their appreciation for our students valuable contributions to the campus and to the Davis community during their undergraduate tenure.
We ask you to identify the outstanding student within your department according to the following criteria:
1. Excellent academic achievement
2. Outstanding leadership activities
3. A student who embodies the vision of UC Davis’ Principles of Community.
When
you submit your student award winner, please include the following:
- the
nominator’s full name and contact information.
- the student’s full name, major and contact information.
- an explanation of why you have chosen
to honor them with this award.
- a photo of the student for a PowerPoint presentation at the event as well as one that will be displayed in the Buehler Alumni Center for one year.
Unlike
prior years, only one student per department may be put forth as the 2013
Outstanding Senior. Please be sure to share with your student the fact that you
have selected them for this award. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, May 20 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. We will be contacting your student and their
family as well as their nominator with personal invitations to the event.
Award information must be turned into the Cal Aggie Alumni Association by 5 p.m. on May 10. Submissions can be e-mailed to alumni@ucdavis.edu (preferred), faxed into (530) 752-3395 or sent via campus mail to the Cal Aggie Alumni Association with attention to Senior Awards. If you will be sending them via campus mail, please contact alumni@ucdavis.edu and let us know that it has been mailed.
