To celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Morrill Act, the Smithsonian is recognizing land grant colleges across the United States as part of its annual Folklife Festival. UC Davis faculty, students and staff will be hosting a number of events, presentations, mini-lectures and displays at the festival. Highlights include sustainable design and artistic displays from Dr. Ann Savageau’s class and the UC Davis Olive Oil Center will share information about their products and production process. A daily schedule of events and performances has been added to the festival website. In addition to the events during the day, special UC Davis events will be taking place in the evening. More details are below on these events.

Volunteers needed:

At the Folklife Festival, UC Davis will host a table with two alumni or current students to greet people, answer campus-related questions, display campus websites via laptop computers, share your campus experiences and serve as alumni ambassadors. As the only school from California participating, we are excited to share with others about our wonderful campus. We need alumni or students to sign up for shifts at the table. Each shift is about 2 ½ hours and a festival t-shirt will be provided. Additional campus updates and information about the campus will also be available for volunteer workers. The table will be under a shaded tent and chairs and water will be provided. Please click here to sign up for a shift and help us show our Aggie Pride.
