Cal Aggie Alumni Association Signature Events
Alumni Awards
The Cal Aggie Alumni Association recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of UC Davis graduates at their annual awards ceremony, the Alumni Awards. The six awards present an excellent opportunity to provide visibility to UC Davis and its alumni as we showcase our finest graduates, their accomplishments and the breadth of the campus’ own advancements. The event includes a Vintage Aggies wine tasting reception, an awards ceremony, video presentation and dinner. (January)
Picnic Day
Picnic Day is the day every April when anyone who has ever lived in Davis or attended UC Davis comes back to town and wanders around campus and downtown. It includes a giant parade in the morning, and events and exhibitions on campus throughout the afternoon. Student bands and dance groups can be seen performing on any of the various stages around campus. It is an agricultural showcase and an open house for school organizations. Picnic Day captures many things that are quintessentially Davis. (Late April)
Picnic Day Breakfast
Alumni, their families as well as the Davis community are invited to enjoy a hearty breakfast while reconnecting and networking with alumni. This event includes performances by the Cal Aggie Marching Band-Uh Alumni Association and the departments of Theatre, Dance and Music. This event is a great way for visitors to start off their Picnic Day experience.

Alumni Zone at
Vanderhoef Quad

A destination for many alumni during Picnic Day, the Alumni Zone caters to alumni and their families to provide them with updated resources about campus, special amenities in our members only area, and inform them on how to get involved with CAAA. Children's activities including the Crocker Art Ark, mural painting, an instrument petting zoo and fitness fun are all part of the family-friendly experience on the Vanderhoef Quad.
Pajamarino
Alumni from all over the country flock to Davis to celebrate Homecoming and the annual tradition of Pajamarino. This event started back in 1912 as students still in their pajamas snuck out of the dorms to greet alumni as they returned to campus on the train. We continue this tradition by encouraging alumni to ride the train to Davis where they are cheerfully greeted by students and student alumni association members, the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh and alumni band, Aggie Pack, the Spirit Squad, and community members, all dressed in pajamas. Following their arrival are performances by UC Davis student groups and various carnival type games. Once the sun goes down all the students, alumni and guests, start a parade through downtown Davis to the Aggie Pack bonfire over at Aggie Stadium. (Friday before Homecoming)
Parent & Family Weekend
Parents and families are welcomed back to UC Davis to experience campus life at Parent and Family Weekend. Begin at the Campus Showcase on Friday where you will have an opportunity to hear lectures by esteemed faculty members and go behind the scenes to discover some of the world class research at UC Davis. Finish the day at the Vintage Aggies Wine Tasting featuring UC Davis alumni winemakers. On Saturday, attend campus department activities and tours, and learn our Aggie traditions at a BBQ luncheon before the football game.(Late October/Early November)
Aggie Diner
Aggie Diner is a great opportunity for students to network with UC Davis alumni and learn from their experiences both at UC Davis and during their professional careers. Alumni then have the chance to reconnect to campus and provide mentorship to students. Aggie Diner is a business casual, catered dinner in October. Alumni are seated based on their career field and/or major while at UC Davis. Students rotate three times throughout the meal (salad, entree, dessert). In addition, prior to the dinner, alumni are invited to a 1/2 hour wine social to network with each other and for students coordinating event to thank them personally. (November)
Vintage Aggies Wine Tastings
These events take place in the fall and in the spring during the academic year. Alumni winemakers are invited to pour the fruits of their labor at these events while other alumni and their guests get the privilege of meeting graduates of our world class viticulture and enology program. (Spring before Picnic Day and Fall during Parent and Family Weekend)
