Calcutta Falls Trail Image

Event Date

Location
Black Hole of Calcutta Falls Trailhead, Auburn, CA

Join GSM Hiking Outdoor Adventures & Trails (GHOAT) and Active Aggies for their February Calcutta Falls Hiking Trail Hike!

The Calcutta Falls Hiking Trail follows the Western States Trail and winds alongside the North Fork of the American River with plenty of openings to catch gorgeous views of the river and foothills. There are breathtaking views on the journey to Calcutta Falls including several spots to meander off the trail to the river bank. We will also be brewing coffee outdoors, building a campfire, and do brewery hopping afterwards.

Fun Facts:

  • Calcutta Falls is only 1.1 miles away from the trailhead.
  • There are a ton of butterflies in “mini-fields” that are randomly dispersed throughout the trail.
  • There is little shade along this hike, so come prepared with sun protection and water.
  • The trail can get dusty, so closed-toed shoes and/or pants are recommended.
